A Vulgar Artist by Teatro Efémero
Carolina Figueiredo uses as main inspiration the concept of "the hunger artist", present in Kafka's short story "An Artist of Hunger" and develops this idea where a person, who uses what he thinks is his art, to exhaustion, is stagnant in time, lives only and only from the act of fasting. The text is also inspired by alejandro G. Iñárritu's film "Birdmand" or "The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance" where a seemingly outdated actor tries to draw attention to his work by directing a Broadway show.
